Every year my floral wholesaler has a contest consisting of various design categories and any designer who works with them may enter. The 2017 Mayesh Design Star winner was Christy Hulsey of Colonial House of Flowers in Georgia and she is as sweet as that famous southern sweet tea…and talented too! It was a joy to attend this workshop and learn about new products, florals and techniques that have helped me be on the cutting edge of floral design. Some of my favorite florals from the day were: olive greens, burgundy dutch lisianthus and burgundy (almost black) calla lilies!
